Manchester United vs Arsenal predicted line-ups: Mason Greenwood to make first Premier League start and a midfield headache for Unai Emery
Manchester United and Arsenal go head-to-head at Old Trafford on Monday night in what is to be bound a fiery counter between two arch rivals.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping for a far better performance than the one he witnessed on Wednesday night, with the Red Devils requiring penalties to advance to the Carabao Cup fourth round at Rochdale’s expense.
Meanwhile, the Gunners head into the game in buoyant mood after thrashing Nottingham Forest 5-0 in the same competition a day earlier.
The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-0 win for Arsenal at the Emirates, with newly-elected skipper Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring either side of the break.
Below, talkSPORT.com takes a look at how both sides could line up.
Manchester United
Red Devils boss Solskjaer has suggested he will hand Mason Greenwood his first Premier League start against the Gunners.
With Marcus Rashford out and Anthony Martial doubtful, the youngster is in pole position to make an impact against Arsenal, just like Rashford did when he broke into the team back in 2016.
Paul Pogba is also an injury doubt for Monday’s clash with an ankle injury, with Scott McTominay expected to retain his place in United’s starting XI.
Arsenal
Unai Emery will stick with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his lone centre forward with Alexandre Lacazette still out sidelined for another week.
Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding both impressed in midweek, but they are unlikely to be risked so early on from their respective comebacks from injury.
Lucas Torreira should get the nod in a three-man midfield comprising of Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi.
Bukayo Saka could also start after he was hauled off against Aston Villa following Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ red card.
