Mario Balotelli trolled Manchester United fans on Twitter after Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain
The honeymoon is over for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he experienced his first defeat since taking interim charge of Manchester United.
The loss came in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with Paris Saint-Germain winning 2-0 at Old Trafford in the last 16 clash thanks to goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe.
Given United’s stature as a club, there are plenty of people who would have been happy to see them outclassed on their home turf.
And former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli took to Twitter to bask in the glory of seeing the Red Devils lose, posting a series of tweets mocking Solskjaer’s men.
His first tweet was a video he took of the Parisians passing the ball around their opponents as the game wound down into a comfortable PSG victory.
A matter of moments later, Balotelli tweeted the message: “City fans happy! Good night.”
Inevitably this baited some United fans to react and Balotelli responded with a throwback picture of the scoreboard after City’s 6-1 victory over their local rivals in October 2011 – a game where Balotelli scored and did an iconic celebration when he brandished the message “Why always me?” under his shirt.
He later deleted the Tweets, with plenty of United fans having responded with not too kind words!
