Mauricio Pochettino rejected an offer from AS Monaco

The Athletic report that Ligue 1 side AS Monaco’s first choice to replace Robert Moreno was ex-Tottenham and Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino, but the Argentinian rejected the offer, leading to Sporting Director Paul Mitchell offering the job to Niko Kovač instead.

Pochettino has been without a club since November 2019, but rejected the proposal from friend Paul Mitchell, with the duo having worked together at Southampton between 2012 and 2014, as well as at Spurs between 2014 & 2017.

Despite their excellent relationship, Pochettino preferred to wait for a better opportunity.
