He made a brilliant start to his tenure as Manchester United boss but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was unable to get the Red Devils into the top four last season.

They could only finish sixth in the Premier League in 2018/19, which means they will compete in the Europa League while also trying to finish in the coveted Champions League spots this time around.

However, the feeling is more optimistic at Old Trafford than it was a year ago even though fans are desperate to see their club competing at the highest level.

The club have made signings in areas where they desperately needed improving and there have been good results this season such as their opening weekend triumph over Chelsea, winning 4-0.

They’re a club slowly getting their identity back and the fact that United have a former player managing the club will please the United faithful that little bit more.

Solskjaer was a player for United for eleven years and contributed to some great success during a golden era.

His most memorable moment saw him bag a last-minute winner as they won the 1999 Champions League final at Bayern Munich’s expense.

So it’s no surprise that United fans created a song after him, which was doing the rounds in United’s 2019/20 Europa League opener against Kazakh side Astana.
