Peter Bosz agrees to not use Lucas Paquetá as a striker
As reported by Le Progrès, Lyon’s Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Paquetá will no longer be used as a false nine this season.
With first-choice number nine Moussa Dembélé injured and various other options unavailable, Paquetá had been pushed into an usual attacking spearhead role for Lyon in the winter. After a promising start in the position, which fell between a traditional number nine, holding up the ball, and a false nine who dropped off the front to pick up possession, performances faltered and criticism grew of the player, who had seemed exasperated, around the turn of the year.
However, OL coach Peter Bosz and Paquetá (24) recently met to discuss the subject and it has been agreed that the Brazilian will no longer be used as a striker and will stay in midfield.
The Brazilian could well be in line to leave Lyon this summer after a huge bid from a Premier League club was rejected last month while PSG have also been linked with the player.
