Premier League news: Andreas Pereira and Axel Tuanzebe sign new Man United contracts
Andreas Pereira has become the latest player to commit himself to Manchester United by signing a new four-year contract.
The midfielder, who joined the club in 2012, had entered the last year on his previous deal, but will now remain at Old Trafford until 2023, with the option of a further year.

Pereira spent two season-long loan spells in Spain with Getafe and Valencia and has made just 11 starts for the club, but played 22 times last season and impressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after being given a first-team chance under former boss Jose Mourinho last summer.
“I have spent so long in Manchester that I now regard the city and the club as my home and I’m extremely happy to continue my career here,” Pereira told the club’s official website.
The manager has shown great faith in me and I can’t wait to get this campaign started under him.
“We know that we all have to work hard and that started on day one of pre-season. I will be doing everything I can to help us perform the way we need to, this season and beyond. I also want to thank my family for the trust they have in me and God for the opportunity he has given me.”
Pereira follows in the footsteps of Marcus Rashford, who also signed a contract until June 2023 with the option of a fifth year and is set to earn up to £300,000-a-week.
Although the contract does not make him the club’s top earner, Rashford will be right at the top end of United’s pay scale behind Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez.
United have also announced that Periera’s fellow Academy graduate, Axel Tuanzebe, has agreed a new deal after returning from a season’s loan at Aston Villa. The 21-year-old defender has signed until 2022, with the option of a further year.
