Premier League power rankings: Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson selected as 14th best player

The new Premier League season is close to being upon us and we can’t wait at talkSPORT as we prepare to bring you more live football than ever before.

It’s the greatest league in the world and to celebrate its impending return, we have compiled a list of the 20 players we expect to shine the most in the top-flight in 2019/20.

A team of talkSPORT experts have offered insight, numbers have been crunched and one player will be revealed every working day – with the winner of talkSPORT’s Premier League Power Rankings announced on Friday, August 9, before Liverpool kick-off the new season against Norwich City.

14: Ederson – Manchester City

Questionable tattoos aside, there’s no fault we can find with Manchester City’s number one, Ederson.

The Brazilian has been a revelation since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in July 2017 from Benfica. A £35m signing, he’s become priceless for Pep Guardiola.

Equally as comfortable with his feet as he is with his hands, you could probably stick him in midfield and he’d still do a top job.

After a fantastic first season at the club, the 25-year-old was even better in 2018/19.

He kept twenty clean sheets in the Premier League, earning him a spot in the PFA Team of the Year, whilst he also saved a penalty as City beat Chelsea on penalties to win the Carabao Cup.

There’s few better goalkeepers in world football than this man and, with such a solid glovesman between the sticks, who would bet against City clinching a third straight title?

Number 15: Christian Eriksen

Number 16: Andy Robertson

Number 17: Trent Alexander-Arnold

Number 18: James Maddison

Number 19: Luka Milivojevic

Number 20: Jack Grealish

A new player will be revealed every day on talkSPORT’s social media accounts with the full verdict from our panel of experts over on talkSPORT.com. Tune in for more debate on our selections on Drive from 4pm.
