Preview | Marseille vs Lille (29/01/16)
Marseille will be looking to continue their climb up the table as they welcome Lille to the Stade Velodrome. The hosts are now unbeaten in their last nine league outings and drew 1-1 away at Lyon last weekend, but their home form is what’s really holding them back; they have failed to win any of their last eight on home turf. If they start picking up more points at the Velodrome, then Michel’s side could quite easily end the season in the top three.
Visitors Lille have had a mixed week to say the least. Last weekend they became the first side this season to lose to rock-bottom Troyes, but then responded with an impressive 5-1 victory over Bordeaux in mid-week which booked their place in the Coupe de la Ligue final. Manager Frederic Antonetti will be hoping his side can now build on that result to improve their league position.
Earlier this season, Marseille beat Lille 2-1 at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Michy Batshuayi and Romain Alessandrini put Marseille two up before Sebastien Corchia pulled one back.
