The fifth-year quarterback entered the game after a tough Week 3 loss to the Giants where the Bucs had an 18-point lead at halftime but wound up losing by one point.
Winston was quick to point out that wasn’t the case despite the Rams last-ditch efforts.
“We finished,” he told reporters.
Indeed, Tampa Bay did.
Winston was 28-of-41 passing for 385 yards and four touchdowns in the team’s second win of the season. He also threw two interceptions with one returned for a pick-six late in the fourth quarter.
Rams cornerback Marcus Peters had a 32-yard interception returned for a touchdown to bring Los Angeles within five points. But yet another big play on defense, this time by former-Ram-turned-Buc Ndamukong Suh, sealed the victory.
Winston wants to make sure the team remains on an even keel when it enters its Week 5 matchup in New Orleans against the Saints.
