Los Blancos will be determined to put their disappointing draw against Celta Vigo behind them by booking their place in the next stage of the cup

Real Madrid will look to cement their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals when they host Numancia on Wednesday evening.

Zinedine Zidane’s men take a three-goal lead into the game, having won the first leg 3-0 last week, and with the game well in their favour the French coach is likely to use the opportunity to give game-time to fringe players.

The game would appear to be out of reach for Numancia, but the Segunda Division outfit still have plenty of pride to play for.

GAME PREVIEW

Goals from Gareth Bale, Isco and Borja Mayoral gave Real Madrid a comfortable win over Numancia the Nuevo Estadio Los Pajaritos last week, helping to place one foot firmly in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Zidane has opted for a relatively thin 19-man panel for the game, with Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo sitting the game out ahead of the Liga encounter against Villarreal which takes place three days later.

Nevertheless, there is still no shortage of firepower, with Isco set to lead an attack along with the likes of Toni Kroos, Marco Asensio and Mayoral, showing that Madrid are not treating the second leg as a foregone conclusion.

Los Blancos struggled against Celta Vigo in the league on Sunday, allowing victory to slip from their grasp late in the game as they drew 2-2 and Zidane, as well as the fans, will be demanding a much more clinical performance against Numancia, particularly at home.
