Terem Moffi set for paid loan to OGC Nice with obligation to buy

Foot Mercato have reported the details on Terem Moffi’s move to OGC Nice, which will be in the format of a paid loan with an obligation to buy the player.

After a successful medical examination, the player is expected to arrive in Nice on Tuesday. The deal between the two clubs is not a straight transfer but a mandatory, paid loan of €2.5m with a €22.5m (plus €5m bonus) obligation to buy the Nigerian international striker, who is currently the second highest scorer in Ligue 1. Lorient has also secured a 15% percentage in any future sale with the official announcement set come imminently.

The Aiglons had submitted their seventh offer to Lorient, estimated at 30 million euros including bonuses. All indications were that there would not be an eighth bid as Moffi was undergoing his medical, according to TF1 journalist Saber Desfarges. The player did not show up at Lorient’s training ground that morning, and the longest saga of the January transfer window appeared to have come to an end.
