Tottenham Hotspur news: Mauricio Pochettino admits Tanguy Ndombele only showed ‘30 to 40 percent’ of his potential against Aston Villa
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted there is still more to come from new signing Tanguy Ndombele, despite a debut goal.
The Frenchman helped Spurs come from behind to claim a 3-1 win over Aston Villa on the opening weekend of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.
His guided missile from 25 yards beat an impressive Tom Heaton, equalising for his new side having gone 1-0 done to a John McGinn strike.

A Harry Kane double followed, giving Spurs all three points their new north London stadium with Ndombele growing into the match across the 90 minutes.
But manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted the 22-year-old’s display against Villa was just a fraction of what he can do.
He said after the match: “It was a fantastic performance. But to be honest there is a lot to improve, he only showed 30 or 40 per cent of his potential. He has amazing potential to improve.
“It’s one of the aspects he needs to work on, he didn’t score too many goals at Lyon, but that is one of the areas that is a target for him to improve this season.
“It is so early, in his first game he scored. I am delighted for him, he is a player that arrived to the team from another country and it is always a difficult adaption and it is going to help him to feel happy and comfortable on the pitch and with his team.”
