Viewership of Christmas SmackDown Episode Suffers Big Drop
Tuesday’s edition of WWE SmackDown Live from Fresno, CA on the USA
Network averaged 1.904 million viewers, down from 2.214 million the
previous week, according to ShowbuzzDaily.
The episode was expected to draw poor viewership due to it falling on
Christmas night and being pre-taped. Some of the matches that took
place include The Usos & The Club vs. Sanity & The Bar, Mustafa
Ali vs. Andrade Almas, Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe, and Rusev vs. Shinsuke
Nakamura for the United States Title. It also featured an appearance by
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon where he was attacked by AJ Styles.
WWE
will attempt to rebound with next week’s episode but with this being
the New Year’s Day episode, the expectation is that this episode will
door poor ratings. It will also be a taped show.
