WSL: Anfield to host first women’s match with Liverpool vs Everton Merseyside derby scheduled for next month

The Merseyside derby will be the first ever women’s match played at Liverpool’s historic Anfield home, it has been confirmed.

The Women’s Super League fixture between the Reds and Everton will kick-off at 3pm on Sunday, November 17 and will be one of the highlights of the FA’s Women’s Football Weekend during the men’s international break.

The fixture will take place before the corresponding men’s match, with the first Merseyside derby of the Premier League season scheduled for December 4.

“This is an historic moment for women’s football on Merseyside,” said Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore.

“We’re incredibly proud to have our women’s team play their first league game at Anfield and for it to be a Merseyside derby against Everton makes it extra special.”

Tickets will be sold for just £5 with free entry to under-16s to help boost the crowd.
