WWE Network Launches in China, Heath Slater Opens School, Sheamus
The WWE Network is officially coming over to one of the biggest countries in the entire world. WWE announced earlier today that they will be partnering up with PPTV to bring the WWE Network over to China. As usual, those who purchase a subscription to the station will be able to watch exclusive content, archived footage, and live pay-per-views. The company has announced that the WWE Network will be available in China starting next Friday. WWE has been making attempts to expand all over the world for years now, and China is definitely a market they will want to be successful in as they have over 1.3 billion residents. WWE stock has gone up 2% since the announcement.
Meanwhile WWE Superstar Heath Slater has announced that his new wrestling school has officially opened up. Slater opened up the school in Atlanta, Georgia this past Wednesday, and it will be known as the Face 2 Face Wrestling school located at 3201 Atlanta Industrial Parkway, Suite 306. Slater has recruited the likes of Ron Simmons, Theodore Long, Jazz, and Mr. “Curtis” Hughes to help train the talents at the school. The facility includes a thirteen-week training schedule that will teach you what you need to know about the professional wrestling business. Sheamus also posted on Twitter recently that he is in Vancouver, Canada to shoot the upcoming WWE Studios film Buddy Games. The film will be also be directed by Josh Duhamel, and he will also be the star of the new film. Deadline describes the premise as “a group of thirty-something friends who reunite to play the Buddy Game — a wild assortment of absurd physical and mental challenges. In the process, they heal old wounds, right past wrongs and figure out the true meaning of friendship — or die trying.” Sheamus will be portraying the role of a pawnbroker named Thursty, and his character will bring an item of importance to Bender, a character played by Nick Swardson. No release date has been given yet.
