WWE NXT video highlights: Spin the Wheel, Make a Deal announcement

The build to Halloween Havoc picked up on last night’s NXT.

Three matches were announced for the Wednesday, October 28 Halloween Havoc episode. Io Shirai will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Candice LeRae, Damian Priest will defend the NXT North American Championship against Johnny Gargano, and Rhea Ripley will face Raquel Gonzalez.

The return of a classic Halloween Havoc match type was also announced. At the end of last night’s show, Shotzi Blackheart — who is the host of Halloween Havoc — revealed that the stipulations for Shirai vs. LeRae and Priest vs. Gargano will be determined by Spin the Wheel, Make a Deal.

Coal miner’s glove on a pole match, blindfold match, casket match, Chamber of Horrors, biker’s chain match, buried alive match, devil’s playground match, boiler room brawl, Shotzi’s choice, weapons wild match, trick or street fight, and TLS match were the options listed on the wheel.

LeRae getting another shot at the NXT Women’s Championship was confirmed when she defeated Blackheart in a number one contender’s match last night. LeRae was given brass knuckles by Indi Hartwell near the end of the match and used them to get the win.

Priest retained the North American Championship against Dexter Lumis in last night’s main event, but Gargano attacked him with a steel chair on the stage after the match.

Ripley vs. Gonzalez is being billed as the biggest and baddest women in NXT facing each other. Gonzalez challenged Ripley to the match in a backstage segment last night. Ripley accepted and went to brawl with Gonzalez before they were kept apart by officials.

Ahead of Halloween Havoc, there will be a Tag Team title match on NXT next week. Undisputed Era’s Roderick Strong & Bobby Fish defeated Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch in a number one contender’s match last night and will challenge for Breezango’s NXT Tag Team titles next Wednesday.
