WWE Scraps Smackdown Live Event To Send Roman Reigns Back to Raw, Then Tells Fans He Won’t Be On Raw…

How’s this for a strange story…

WWE has postponed Monday night’s Smackdown brand house show in Corbin, Kentucky at the last second in order to send Roman Reigns — and possibly a few other stars — to WWE Raw that night.

Reigns posted on Twitter that he has “unfinished business” and would be appearing on Raw this coming week, as a continuation of his feud with the McMahon family. You may recall, the Big Dog knocked out Mr. McMahon with a Superman Punch in his blue brand return following the Superstar Shake-Up, and has been involved in a program with Shane McMahon and Elias over the past two weeks.

Here’s where things get kind of weird.

Instead of just advertising arguably their top star for this Monday night’s show, in what is a fairly blatant attempt to curb last week’s record-low viewership, WWE is actually actively telling people that Reigns WILL NOT be appearing on the show.

WWE issued the following response:

“WWE officials have learned of Roman Reigns’ desire to appear on Monday Night Raw, but as of now, and due to his obligations as a Smackdown Live Superstar, he will not be appearing on Monday Night Raw.”

So not only did the postpone a live event that thousands of paying fans were going to attend, with less than one week’s notice, in order to get Reigns on Raw to bounce back the numbers, but now they’re intentionally misleading everyone for… some reason….

The thing is, everyone likely to read this and know he’s appearing on the show will already be watching, and those who don’t are actually at risk of tuning out altogether because they blatantly told people he’s not showing up. It is, in a word, mind-boggling.
